There’s no denying that 2020 has been a challenging year – for the MADE Cymru team, the manufacturers we work with and the businesses we collaborate with. With light at the end of the tunnel (finally), we are positive about what the future brings and how we can help boost the economic future of manufacturing in Wales.
In lieu of a work Christmas party, some of the MADE Cymru team hosted a virtual festive quiz to raise money for Age Connects Wales. They are a social enterprise with over 40 years’ experience supporting older people and their carers in Wales. Their aim is to provide people in Wales aged 50+ with the assistance, support and services they need to live a healthier, more active and independent life. The brutal impact of coronavirus on older people is well documented and many organisations who offer support have not been able to fundraise as they usually would.
The MADE Cymru Christmas Quiz raised over £150 for the organisation and it is hoped that this will help Age Connects Wales over the Christmas period.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We’ll be back on January 4th and are looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of students on our Upskilling for Industry 4.0 and Innovation Management courses (still places available for a 5th February start) and starting new collaborative R&D initiatives with Welsh manufacturers.
