At University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), we recognise that there is a great deal of knowledge, expertise and know-how that exists outside of the university. In recognising this, we’ll always seize the opportunity to welcome practitioners and professionals whose contribution to our Innovation Management courses can only enhance the work we’re already doing.

With a new four-month academic term just starting, we’ve been very fortunate to secure the contribution of a number of guest contributors to both our ‘Introduction to Innovation Management’ and our ‘Managing New Product Development’ modules. It’s how our Innovation Management courses differ somewhat from other similar courses.

In our Friday 12th February live broadcast session, we’ll be joined by Paul Dennis. Originally trained as an electrical engineer, Paul went on to have an amazing career with ABB, a 50 billion dollar technology company. During his twenty years with the company Paul lived and worked in Europe, South Africa, South Asia and the Middle East, ending his time with the company as CEO at their base in Kuwait.

Academically Paul has an MBA and also a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management from Cranfield University. Paul is now semi-retired but still has his hand in the business world as the part time MD of a boutique consultancy.

In our Friday lecture session, Managing New Product Development, Paul will be bringing his focus on to the ‘Business Models for New Product Development’. In this session he will be considering the economic engines at the heart of a business, the role of finance and the need for companies to adopt business planning for success. To support his lecture Paul will be bringing with him a case-study of a new product development across an international market.
