Our Programme
To truly benefit from the transformative processes and tools that have come about as a result of Industry 4.0, it’s essential to understand how these new technologies can be applied in a commercial setting. With the majority of our students already active in roles at manufacturing firms in Wales, we’ve designed our programme to be flexible and adaptable to suit the needs of employers.
We’re offering three variations of the Upskilling for Industry 4.0 programme: a complete MSc course for those committed to achieving a full Masters qualification, and the choice of two shorter 32-week courses (one at Level 5 and one at Level 7) that condenses the most important practical knowledge into two modules.
Continuous Improvement with Industry 4.0 (Certificate 40 credits Level 5)
In this 32-week programme, students will complete two modules: Green Belt Six Sigma Quality and a group project. Graduates will be equipped with a thorough and practical understanding of how the advanced technologies of Industry 4.0 can be applied to every aspect of modern manufacturing.
Smart Manufacturing with Industry 4.0 (Certificate 40 credits Level 7)
In this 32-week programme, students will complete two modules: Introduction to Industry 4.0 with a choice of either Advanced Industry 4.0 or Design for Industry 4.0. Graduates will be equipped with a thorough and practical understanding of how the advanced technologies of Industry 4.0 can increase efficiency, maximise productivity and future-proof businesses.
Industry 4.0 Advanced Manufacturing (MSc Level 7)
Our full Masters programme is suitable for students keen to attain a complete academic qualification. This two-and-a-half year course includes a dissertation and an in-depth theoretical study into the principles behind Industry 4.0. If students prefer to study individual Level 7 modules (including Introduction to Industry 4.0, Advanced Industry 4.0 and Design for Industry 4.0) rather than the full course, this can also be accommodated.
